Random ass thought for Leona!Yuri little Future AU alternate.

Namely, that Future Cheka, without ANYONE'S permission, managed to go to the past as well upon learning about the plan. He already slipped his guards as a toddler on the regular. As an adult? With the hope of changing the future for the better alongside ensuring his uncle and nephew get to live happily with Yuu in Twisted Wonderland? Those guards would have no chance in keeping him contained.

That, and he can be wearing a mask whilst Yutu wears their hood. After all, it's far more necessary to avoid people linking this mysterious stranger with the young prince of the Sunset Savanna.

Leona! Yuri... hmm. I was struck with an image of myself with a very cheap lion ear headband. heehee

This idea is so good, perfection even. From what we know about Checka + mixing some adult Simba into it... Cheka has a good heart but he is a bit dumb about these sorts of things. Big of heart, dumb of ass, and a little bit lazy just like his Uncle, he was still young enough when the world ended that he genuinely believed in his version of Leona. He has no problem saying he wants to be like him, and it's even easier to say that in the past. Leona has a lot of fans for his magishift performance so he's able to pass off his fan boying as normal.

I think this version of Cheka sort of understands where his Uncle is coming from. He might not like the way his Uncle talks about him, or like the idea of giving up the throne, but he understands. His own nephew (oh Leona would hate hearing Cheka say that) provided a lot of perspective for him. He's seen things he wishes he hadn't, that's why he's here.

Meeting his own child is sobering enough but seeing Cheka... Leona likes to avoid thinking about things more than he has to. Seeing a grown Cheka makes him think about the future of the Sunset Savannah outside of his own spouse and child being alive. He'd be stupid to not take advantage of it.
